The Majime Opus I
Pictures will be revealed by October 16th
The Opus I is a Limited Edition. Once it sells out, it won't be coming back.
I'm proud to finally share the Opus I with you. It's a true performer in every task, built to make cooking easier and more enjoyable. Whether you're in your home kitchen or working a busy restaurant line, this knife won't let up.
Key Features:
Edge Length: 8" / 203mm
Steel: At the heart of the Opus is a core of S35VN, a premium stainless powder steel made by Crucible Industries. It's known for holding a keen edge for a long time and resisting rust and chipping. That core is wrapped in six layers of cladding, three on each side, then deeply etched to bring out a bold, layered pattern that stands out on any cutting board.
Handle: Synthetic G10 with Mosaic Pin
The handle is sculpted to fit your hand naturally, and it's built for the two ways cooks actually hold a knife. If you use a pinch grip, the finger notch sits right where your fingers wrap around the blade. If you prefer to hold the handle fully, it's just as comfortable there. I designed it to give you the best of both worlds.
Edge Geometry
The Opus has a convex bevel, which means the edge curves gently into the blade instead of meeting at a flat angle. The result is an edge that's razor sharp but strong, and a blade that moves through food without sticking or wedging. Dense squash, firm carrots, and big onions fall apart with almost no effort, and delicate herbs come off clean instead of bruised.
Shipping
I intend to always ship the following day after purchase. I'm a one-person team, and every order is packed by me so bear with me!
*****
The Opus I took over a year and a half of development and constant refinement to get every tolerance exactly where I wanted it. After heat treatment, test blades went to a metallurgical lab here locally in Atlanta for pull tests, where the steel is stretched until it breaks to measure its tensile strength. I observed technicians study the surfaces under a microscope at a ridiculous level( insanely exciting), checked Rockwell hardness on every batch, and tested etching times until the layers had just the right contrast. The handle went through round after round of changes until it felt perfect in the hand. Every detail on this knife is there on purpose.

Thank you, everyone!
